Update to: An OpenClaw Migration Stops Omarchy 4.0.5 Updates, Fixes Coming in 4.0.6

The fix landed fast. Ryan Hughes shipped Omarchy 4.0.6 on October 19, a day after 4.0.5, as a patch for “a few small hiccups.” Update from the menu with Update > Omarchy.

What’s fixed

  • OpenClaw migration: updates no longer stop at the 4.0.5 OpenClaw move, including when you have your own OpenClaw install.
  • Screen lock before suspend: DHH fixed a case where the session could stay unlocked after suspend. Lock requests now check the real state instead of a cached value.
  • Non-Latin keyboard layouts: you can type your LUKS passphrase again.
  • Limine command line: a config that used a plain = no longer aborts every update.
  • TUXEDO laptops: the driver builds on the Omarchy kernel again.

One manual step

If ~/.local/bin/openclaw is your own npm install, the update leaves it alone, and the OpenClaw gateway won’t start after a reboot. The release notes have a one-line fix: rename your copy, reset the failed service, reinstall Omarchy’s OpenClaw CLI and start the gateway. Copy it straight from the notes linked below.
