Fresh Omarchy 4.5 installs are leaner, Omarchy Central reports. OBS Studio, Kdenlive and Lazydocker no longer ship by default. Monologue and Omacut cover most recording and trimming. Docker and Compose stay. Existing machines keep what they already have; OBS remains in the Omarchy repo if you want it.
Screenshots move to Omasnap, replacing Tensaku: a native Wayland overlay with vector annotations, OCR, scrolling captures, and the same capture modes. Existing installs migrate on their own.
My take
Default install should stay thin. Power tools opt-in. Omasnap’s “capture before the overlay appears” trick is the kind of polish that makes a desktop feel finished.
God Bless, and Use the Source!
