Valve’s October Steam Survey has Linux at 3.95%, up 0.05%, Phoronix reports.
- Valve revised September from a scary-looking 3.05% to 3.9% (the dip came with a big swing in Simplified Chinese use)
- macOS 2.35%, Windows 93.7%
- Among distros, CachyOS leads at 16.3%, ahead of SteamOS at 13.89%
- Just under 70% of Linux gamers are on AMD CPUs
A year ago we were celebrating Linux cracking 3%.
My take
An Arch-based distro beating SteamOS on Steam’s own survey is a fun stat. Slow and steady.
God Bless, and May the Source Be with You!
