Jacob lay down to sleep on a rock and woke up at the gate of heaven. Moses turned aside to look at a bush and heard God call his name. Pastor Troy Brewer says ordinary moments like that still happen.
What he’s saying
In his message “Sacred Space and Divine Time,” Brewer quotes Jacob’s realization this way: “Heaven invades earth in this place, and I just thought it was a place to lay down.” He points to the sons of Issachar, who understood their times (1 Chronicles 12:32), and urges believers to build discernment through prayer and watchfulness. “It’s one thing for God Almighty to promise he’s going to do something,” he said. “It’s another thing for you to be there in the right place at the right time for the right miracle to happen.”
My take
The conversation you’re rushing through might be a divine appointment. The interruption might be the Holy Spirit setting something up. “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it” (Genesis 28:16). Today, slow down a little and ask Him: what are You doing right here?
