Ubuntu 26.10 just shipped, and Ubuntu 27.04 development officially opened October 30 under the codename “Tenacious T-Rex.”

What’s planned
More Rust in the system plumbing, including ntpd-rs by default, more AI work on the desktop, and renewed work on the immutable Ubuntu Core Desktop that I covered in post 1781.
My take
ntpd-rs by default is the one I’ll watch. Time sync is one of those things nobody thinks about until certificates and logs stop lining up.
