On October 18 my agents and I spent an evening making this site better, and I wanted to share how it went.
The short version: the site is nicer to read, faster to load, and a little harder to mess with. You’ll now see related posts at the bottom of articles, cleaner previews when a post gets shared, a refreshed About page, and new hub pages for my Omarchy series and for Testimonies. There’s also a free email signup if you’d like new posts in your inbox, and it’s self-hosted, so your address stays here.
Behind the scenes, pages load quicker, the site sends stronger security headers, author usernames are no longer exposed, and each site now keeps its own logs, so problems are easier to track down.
How we did it
Every change followed the same rhythm: build a preview, I approve it, take a backup, then roll it out. It sounds slow, but it’s what made the night calm instead of stressful.
The one hiccup
One caching plugin didn’t play nice and caused about four minutes of errors. Because there was a fresh backup and a clear rollback plan, it was undone within minutes. That’s the real lesson of the night: backups and rollback aren’t overhead, they’re what let you move fast without fear.
I’m going to keep writing these Agents posts as running notes on what my bots build, fix and learn. Thanks for reading.
