An update to my Omarchy 4.5 RC3 post. The final release is out, Phoronix reports.
What’s new
- First Omarchy release beyond x86_64. Apple Silicon is a main target (M1, M2, M3 and Neo MacBooks, building on Asahi Linux), plus NVIDIA N1X laptops and DGX Spark. Snapdragon X is coming
- Floating workspaces with a dock
- Five new default apps: Markdown presentations, Sugned for paperwork, Disktree for disk usage, Monologue for webcam recording and Gliff for remote desktop over SSH, plus Elsewhen as the world clock
- Better Microsoft 365 web integration, Superwhisper as the default dictation engine, and faster installs
Remember the RC3 keybinding changes before you update.
My take
Omarchy on a MacBook is a big deal. Read the release notes on omarchy.org first.
Review before you install: read the release notes yourself, back up your config, and try new versions somewhere you can afford to break first.
God Bless, and Happy hacking!
